Universal Remote Control TV Pro lets you control practically any TV using an Android device.
Universal Remote Control TV Pro transforms any Android device with an IR blaster into a remote control that you can use with practically any television. It does require an IR blaster, which most Android devices have these days, but if yours doesn’t, then you won’t be able to use it. Also, it’s designed first and foremost for smartphones. It just feels right in that form factor. As you move up to the larger tablet sizes, it’s a little less convenient, and you might want to look to an app that provides broader control.
Configuration is a simple matter. Download the app and run it for the first time. It will prompt you to enter the IR code for your television or to let it scan. If you know the code, go ahead and enter it since the process will be faster. If you don’t know the code, the app will scan through all known IR codes until it finds the one that works with your set. With the appropriate code assigned, you’ll be able to change the channel, adjust the volume and so forth.
On your touchpad, you’ll find a numpad, the color-coded A, B, C and D buttons many remotes have, arrow buttons and a menu button. The app itself also has an info button, an exit button, a return button and a tools button. Use Tools to configure the app further. This is a fairly basic remote implementation that will work well for users who prefer that, but any advanced TV features are probably beyond it.
